DIY HEALING LOTION BAR
I have decided to put some of my favourite essential oils into a body lotion bar. As I am breaking away from plastic bottles and harsh chemicals I decided to make my very own body lotion bar. Now if you aren’t sure what this is, don’t worry because that is what it is. It is basically what the name says, it is a lotion in the form of a bar. Not only does is not have no plastic bottle, it also has no harsh chemicals and I have added some essential oils to give it a good boost. The Rosemary essential oil and lavender essential oil are great for the nervous system, the melaleuca acts as an antiseptic and I have added On Guard which is a blended essential oil that is great for immune support. Now this is really easy to make and I really hope some of you try my recipe out.
For the recipe you will need:
30ml Bees wax
30ml Shea butter
3 drops Rosemary essential oil
4 drops Melaleuca oil
4drops Lavender essential oil
3 drops On Guard blended essential oil
In a bowl melt the Jojoba or the Sweet Almond oil, Shea butter and Bees wax in the microwave or in a double boiler till melted, then stir and add the essential oils of your choice and place into silicon moulds or a lined container. Set aside until the bar has hardened. If you want to rush the setting time then just place it in the fridge.

When up on essential oils you should definitely has Frankincense in your collection, not only because it was given to Jesus Christ by the Three Wise Men but because it is an all-rounder essential oil and you can use it for just about anything! But really, Frankincense is the business. Regardless of your religious beliefs, this oil is basically liquid gold. The power of this oil is extraordinary not only for health benefits but also for its spiritual impact. In addition to mentions in the New Testament, Frankincense is believed to have been used by the Babylonians and Assyrians in religious ceremonies. It has even dubbed it the “King of Oils.”
How you can incorporate this essential oil from the Boswellia tree into your life
Frankincense has a warm, woody aroma and is rather popular to use during prayer or meditation. It is best known for its soothing and rejuvenating properties. It can be used aromatically, topically, and internally. Frankincense promotes feelings of relaxation, satisfaction, peace, and overall wellness when inhaled or diffused. Frankincense is purported to offer numerous mental, spiritual and emotional benefits such as grounding and purpose. It can be used during a massage to soothe and re-energize muscles. If you are feeling anxious you can rub it on the bottom of your feet along with Lavender oil to combat nervous energy.
It can help you rediscover your center and offers rich spiritual elevation when inhaled deeply. It is really good for the skin as it gives the skin a healthy glow. I put a few drops of Frankincense in my light facial moisturiser and it really makes my skin feel soft and invigorated. The smell is also really lovely and awakening. When taken internally, Frankincense supports healthy cell function. You just need to be sure that you are using a therapeutic-grade quality oil if ingesting. You can use a vegetable cap to ingest the Frankincense. Frankincense essential oil is a real pick me up type of oil. If you add it to your diffuser it is really gives your house a warm, enchanting and inviting fragrance.
As with so many oils in this class, Frankincense should be of the highest quality to maximize all the health benefits this essential oil has to offer. I only recommend Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils.
The internal and external health benefits of Frankincense essential oil are wide-ranging and cover a much broader scope than other essential oils. From reducing the appearance of rough skin and other skin imperfections to improving mood and cellular health, Frankincense should be on everyone’s go-to list. It’s a pleasant aroma that you’ll quickly grow to appreciate.
This was the first essential oil that I had a real connection with. Laying in a hospital bed unable move, my mates introduced me to Lavender essential oil. They would spray it on my pillow and fan it in my face with a tissue and yes, it really helped calm me do when I was experiencing a lot of pain.
Anyway enough about my horrible experience and more about the benefits. It’s sweet floral scent is really delightful and has a soothing effect. Besides lavender oil being nice to smell Lavender essential oil (aka Lavandula angustifolia) is just one of the most versatile, all round essential oils available (along with frankincense and Melaleuca if you ask me). Its scent and therapeutic actions reflect its complex chemical structure, and the concentration of the various active elements vary according to the soil, weather patterns, climate and conditions in which it is grown. The best quality Lavender essential oil is said to grow in the Mediterranean, where Romans first planted it throughout Northern Europe and England.
Essential oils act on physical, emotional and spiritual levels, ask me, I know. Lavender oil blends well with a huge range of other essential oils and is known to improve the actions of other essential oils. Lavender essential oil is basically first aid in a bottle as it is one of the few essential oils that can be used neat on bites, stings and scratches, and especially effectively on burns and bruises.

Melaleuca is a true super essential oil. I have been using this essential oil for as long as I can remember. My grandmother always use to put it on my wounds as a child growing up with her. Only now that I have been learning more about essential oils do I fully understand why they are so powerful. As you might know I was left with some rather sizey scars on my legs. Well let me tell you that I have had a very visible reduction in the size of my scars after applying Melaleuca to them almost everyday. Because essential oils are super strong, I mix my essential oils with carrier oil. For my carrier oil I use a mix of almond oil and Jojoba oil. Some people use coconut oil however I find it a bit too oily and heavy for my skin. Everyone has their own skin needs, so you may need to experiment and find which carrier oil works for you. I do sometimes use the coconut oil on drier parts of my skin, such as my heals and elbows. Well now that I have told you my story with melaleuca let me tell you a bit more about the health benefits and uses of this brilliant essential oil (which I personally think everyone should have in their homes first aid kit).
You may have thought “mela who?”, but this essentials oil is commonly known as “Tea Tree”. Melaleuca comes from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree. Believe it or not, Melaleuca is made up of 92 different compounds. The leaves of the melaleuca tree have been used by the Aborigines of Australia for centuries. They used them by crushing the leaves and inhaling the oil to aid in breathing and they would apply the leaves directly to the skin for a cooling effect. Melaleuca is best known for its purifying properties. It can be used to cleanse and purify the skin and nails and to support a healthy complexion. When taken internally, Melaleuca promotes healthy immune function. It can be used on surfaces throughout the home to protect against environmental threats. One of its most common uses today is in skin care products as it’s one of the best natural remedies available for treating acne and acne scarring
Apply 1–2 drops of Melaleuca essential oil onto affected area of skin irritation .Add 1–2 drops to water, citrus drinks, or veggie caps to support healthy immune system function. Put a drop or two in your facial cleanser to help purify the skin or apply to your skin after shaving. Applying to fingernails and toenails after showering will keep your nails healthy. Add a few drops to a spray bottle with water and use on surfaces to protect against environmental threats.

I used to suffer with Tinnitus and not a lot of things helped. It was until I started using essential oils that I noticed an incredible change in the volume of my tinnitus. I personally am a big fan of lavender oil as it has an amazing calming effect and my tension has really dropped. The sensation of the ringing in my ears used to drive me crazy every day and now I barely notice it. It can get really hard to live with and even more challenging to treat however please do not loose hope, because it is possible. With perseverance, faith, meditation and time. Essential oils is definitely a natural method of eliminating and lessoning the intensity of tinnitus.
Essential oils are extracted from the leaves, flowers, roots, seeds, peel, stem and bark of plants. They depict the true essence of a plant and have been used for centuries in healing. They can be used as part of aromatherapy oils or infused with carrier oils, such as, coconut, jojoba, rapeseed or olive. The oils below can be applied topically, applied around affected area, diffused into the air with a diffuser or applied to the reflexology point under the feet to gain physical health benefits . Reducing the intake of caffeine and alcohol also helps with tinnitus, a substitute such as a herbal tea would help take the edge off and aid in the alleviation of the symptoms from tinnitus.
The purity of an essential oil one of the most important factors that determine its quality. An essential oil with impurities may expose you to chemical solvents, synthetic fragrances, contaminants and fillers which can actually harm you. Make sure you buy your oils from a resputable seller to prevent being robbed. Pure oils should carry a certified standard assuring you that there are no fillers, synthetic or harmfull ingredients.
